The Boston Handmade Marketplace is proud to present LIVE MUSIC

The Grownup Noise

Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2007, Boston’s The Grownup Noise have evolved into a rousing indie-pop outfit, bridging the gap between Americana and indie. They’ve performed with everyone from indie rock sensation Thao w/ The Get Down Stay Down to acclaimed Canadian barnstormers Rock Plaza Central and folk troubadours The Guggenheim Grotto. 2011 was a busy year for the band after they released their new LP, This Time with Feeling, which mixed and produced by studio wizard Scott Solter (Spoon, Okkervil River, St. Vincent, John Vanderslice) and toured across the US to promote it during the month of August. This past spring the band celebrated an official acceptance into SXSW and a tour down to Austin where they played a showcase with Tommy Stinson of The Replacements.

Nowhere Lights

Neil Lawrence released his debut E.P. (Chairs To Magazines) in early 2009 and assembled Nowhere Lights to support it. Joined by veteran Somerville rockers John Glenshaw (Sankai, Le Prestige), Michael Murray (Michael Murray & Tsoysli, the Soft Drugs), and Worth Wagers (The Patrons, Jason Walker & the Last Drinks), Nowhere Lights stumbled onto a new sound more unique than the alt-country songs they began with. They blend ghostly guitar lines, 4-part harmonies, and Afro-beat influenced drums to accompany a fresh voice in Boston's alt-country scene. Having released their first single (a 45 RPM record) the band will drop their full length in September, 2012.
